About the track…

By special request of Kent (X_Kobra), a classic MCM1 track by X_GreenOgre is reborn in MCM2: Collision Course. Kip’s Kreations started the remaking process followed by Jeff (MCMnut) who put down the objects and finally Maui_Cool who fixed the textures and trees. In addition, Jesse (JMS) shows off his incredible graphics skills with yet another amazing track pic. Needless to say, this was a team effort.

We hope that this classic track will bring back some memories and inspire you to make some new ones!!

I have a present for you all today!

-WANNABE_SX_WANNABE- designed by [HSD_WILFOR] – Recreated by AMA_King (from scratch)

I have faithfully and painstakingly recreated one of the BEST tracks of all time from MCM-1 ! I used every trick I know to recreate the track and get it to ride as close to the MCM-1 version as possible.

Sooooo… just like the original – you better SCREAM through the whoops and then – LAUNCH THAT TRIPLE !

I rode the track over and over and then painted about 300 versions of the displacement map. Next, I took some screenshots to re-create the textures and – VOILA ! Special thanks to ALL of the AMA TEAM MEMBERS for testing early versions of the track!

I never thought this track would win. I didn’t build it for any contest; I just made it
because I loved MCM1 and wanted to ride this track again, only this time in a more real
environment. Now you know how I chose my original zone name: because I was “nuts” about
“MCM”!!

I want to thank all my buds at Twisted D.I.R.T. for helping me to learn all the skills I
needed to make this track. I especially want to thank Fraser who made all of the 3D
objects for me. It seemed as though every idea I had he was able to replicate perfectly!!

About the Track:

This project was started long before I even knew about MCM2 Central’s Track Contest. My
original goal was to bring back one of my favorite MCM1 SX tracks: PACE Las Vegas. Although
very little on this track is the same as or resembles the original, I kept the name in honor
of the past.

I am really pleased at how this track came out. Hopefully it will appeal to gamers of all
levels; from beginners to pro. I designed several sections to be doubled, tripled, and even
quaded through if you’re a pro. It should provide challenges to all.

Surprisingly, the AI ride really well on this track! Try racing 10 AI and it’s pretty darn
fun!!

NOTE: There is one corner jump to the top of a table which is “spline legal”. I put this
in there to add an extra line, albeit a risky one. Just look for a second set of trails
going off to the left side of the jump to know which corner it is.

Also!! Be sure to practice your starts because the real starting gates are designed to
possibly make your bike “stick a little” when going over!

This is a re-worked version of my MCM1 Supercross track Last Chance SX.
There are some new timing sections on this version. Other than that it is
a basic Supercross track. Nothing fancy. I tried to make the timing
sections easy enough that you don’t have to do any pre-loading. Some spots
can be easily over jumped, but that is the nature of SX. Hopefully this
track will make for some good close racing. Enjoy! )

DirtTwister’s SX – Round 4

Creator’s Comments

This is Round 4 in the DirtTwister’s SX series of tracks. This track is an update to an SX track that I made for MCM 1 and was released in my 3rd track pack for the StepUp2 plugin. I named the track StepUp2 Momentum. This track is all jumps and there are many many lines, so to go fast you have to maintain your momentum while keeping a good rhythm. I didn’t think it would work well in MCM 2 because of the MCM 2 crash physics, but it did and thought it would be great for the 4th round in my series.

Round 5 will finish up the series and it is a replica of the 1990 SX race in Foxboro, MA. I was able to make a replica of the 1990 race thanks to Mark (RST_Smith13) who read my comments on my track New England SX, sent me an e-mail, and then provided me with a video tape of the 1990 race.

I have wanted to make an SX series for MCM 2 for quite a while. I plan to make about 5 tracks in the series. I decided to start with one of my favorite MCM 1 SX tracks. This is the first track I made with Phatman’s PACE SX plugin. Phatman included it with the plugin.

It’s been reworked quite a bit but it still retains the flavor of the original. This track turned out better then I thought it would and I have a ball on it. I keep finding different lines every time I ride it.

BaatKips SX 2000 Remake – rebuilt for MCM 2

Creator’s Comments

This is a raw conversion of the MCM 1 track BaatKips SX 2000. We have had a MCM 2 remake of this track in the works for a while. Randall has the most recent stuff and he has been inactive for a while. This is as true to form of MCM 1 as possible. The displacement map, and sky cube is unchanged from MCM 1. The texture was only resized. The only changes for MCM 2 are adjusting the strength and fog color.

Maybe some day we will have a revised version without the displacement map hay bales and stadium. Since TD just celebrated it’s 3rd birthday, I figured it would be neat to release this, I’ve had fun with it for two years now so it’s time to share.

Well here is my first MCM2 track. This is a conversion of my first Supercross style National track that I made for MCM1. This was one of my favorites out of all the tracks I made for MCM1, so I thought it would be a good one to learn Armadillo with. Unfortunately I fought with Armadillo for hours on this track. I spent more time trying to fix stupid little problems that the editor created than I did on the actual track. So I hope you all enjoy it because there were a few times when I was very close to just calling it quits! Actually if it weren’t for the help of Jeff (MCMnut) I’m sure I would have just trashed the whole thing. Jeff was kind enough to get the funnel start to work on the spline for this one. So if you see him in the Zone and you enjoy this track send him a big “Thank You!” because you probably wouldn’t have the track if it wasn’t for him. And as always, the TD testers were a pleasure to work with. “Thanks Guys!”. Enjoy! )

Strawberry HILL was my first attempt at making a NATURALLY HILLY NAT for MCM-1.
I tweaked it like crazy for MCM-2… and I think it came out GREAT!
You can race a TON of differnet lines in BOTH directions! ENJOY!

The REAL Strawberry HILL was NOT this BIG…

My memories of the REAL Strawberry HILL are from the time when I was 4′ feet tall and I riding a Briggs & Stratton 5-hp mini-bike…

Strawberry HILL was a pile of black topsoil that had been stripped off of the cornfields of Illinois (to build the Chicago Bridge and Iron Steel Mill). It was neatly piled up by bulldozers right next to the railroad tracks two miles from my house (when I was a kid) in Illinois.

As far as textures and colors go… I am trying to find something “diFFeRenT” looking from all the rest of the tracks… I hope you like it… the REAL HILL looked alot like this with permanantly damp black dirt with tons of green weeds, strawberries and rasberries growing all over the place and it was surrounded by the cornfields of Illinios in the steamy 90 degree summers.

I’m glad I was finally able to make this track with trees. I tried converting this track to Extreme Biker and I just couldn’t get it to work right.

Just like Joy Of SX 2 there are some new lines on this track and there are some old ones that don’t work anymore. I had a tough time getting the AI to ride as fast as they do. They still aren’t fast enough. They love to do stunts when they shouldn’t.

In the middle of a track there is a double into a ravine. With MCM 2 it is important that you time it right. It is very easy to crash if you over or under jump it. Learn to gauge your speed as you approach the takeoff. If you are going too fast then let off or drag the brake slightly. If you don’t think your going to make it, then get on the brakes hard, roll the big hill, and then double out of the ravine. If you do this I suggest you go to the left side, because you need to get out of the way. It’s quite intense having it rain AI riders as you jump out.

Gekkoindae

Converter’s Comments

Our lead tester Kent (X_Kobra) asked if any of us would be interested in converting some of X_GreenOgre’s tracks to MCM 2. Gekkoindae was my favorite X_GreenOgre track so I volunteered to do that one. There are several others in the works and should be coming out soon.

I tried to leave the dispmap untouched but I had to rework the finish line straight. The MCM 2 bikes crash too easy so I made it where if you go to the left you can double-double or if you go to the right you can triple or double-single. The textures were redone from scratch and some MCM 2 objects and trees provide the finishing touches.

I hope you enjoy it.

This track was for mcm1 by X-greenogre, X_Kobra asked if I woud like to
remake it. I has a fun realistic feel to it. I thought of just the right
textures and put it all together with some fun objects. Have a good time

Trivia:I have a beta of this track (from when I helped test it) on this site too. Considering how amazingly fast EOD_KrackerJack1 was, I was surprised when he let me help test it. The track theme changed drastically from MCM1 (see image to the right), but he was able to stay true to much of the original (called “Sand Box”) layout. In the MCM1 version the sand was white, and there was a massive house in the distance. After a few laps you realized you and all of your buddies were tiny, and riding the entire track in a childs sandbox with giant toys lying around. The house in the distance was actually KJ’s real House.

About the Track:
When Ash Hollow was first released for MCM2, many people were left with mixed feelings.
So many people loved the original that it was tough to face a completely different version
of the track. Since then I’ve heard many people say it would be nice to ride that one again.

Well, thanks to the programming gurus of Laurie (mcm2boys) and Bruce (AMA_DirtTwister) I
was able to set out on a mission to make as close to an MCM1 remake as possible. With
relatively minor amounts tweaking I was able to produce a track that captures the original
look and feel.

Even though I love this track I have mixed feelings about releasing it since all of my
attempts to contact the original creator (NJK_Tikka) failed. I have since decided that I
shall leave my name off of the game pic and more than likely leave it off of any other
tracks I remake.

A big thanks goes out to the Twisted D.I.R.T. team for helping me test this.
